A pre-column filter can prolong the life of your analytical column by trapping particulates that would otherwise end up on the column inlet frit. Velocity pre-column filters are available in two porosities and three diameters, allowing you to select the best balance between filtering capacity and volume for your system.

Guard columns keep particulates from blocking the anaytical column, but they also trap irreversibly retained compounds, and play a sacrificial role in protecting the stationary phase of the analytical column. Velocity guards can be packed with any of the phases listed for Velocity analytical columns.
